Radical Fun
The works explore a tense state that emerges when stable models of artistic identity are lost and cultural reference points begin to dissolve. In contrast to the accelerated logic of digital production, painting here functions as a slow and resistant medium, one that captures shifts and ruptures. The dominant color — a dense dark brown, close to the shade of coagulated blood — reinforces the sense of time and the physical weight of the painterly gesture.
Carnival and amusement-park motifs, stripped of their former lightness, turn into images of anxiety and exhaustion — they point to a condition in which culture loses its festive dimension and becomes a field of depletion. These forms offer neither comfort nor a restoration of order; on the contrary, they register inner instability and shifts within the structure of the familiar.
